Power

Contents

Power is the single number the game folds everything into: what you built, hired and upgraded. It comes from fourteen sources: soldiers, hero levels, buildings, relics, gear, skills, stars, the raven, technologies, survivors and awakening.

How it is counted

Some sources store a ready number, others convert stats into power at a fixed rate:

StatPower per point
Hero ATK12.5
Hero DEF7
Hero HP0.15

Only three groups of percentages convert into power, but they convert expensively: damage taken reduction and damage resistance at roughly a million per point, crit chance at a third of that, damage dealt at half again less.

Percentages to hero and soldier ATK, HP and DEF do not convert at all: their factor is zero. Most squad-wide and situational percentages weigh nothing either.

The price of one point of power

This is the number that matters. The same resource spent on different things buys very different power:

Spent onResources per point of power
Hiring troops8
Research12,572
Buildings21,805
Sanctuary, the whole way to level 3030,354
The last Sanctuary step, 29 to 3053,446

That is a fifteen-hundred-fold gap against research and a twenty-five-hundred-fold gap against buildings. The rate for troops is nearly flat: tier one and tier ten cost about the same per point.

The catch

Power from troops dies with the soldiers. A number built by hiring is wiped by one lost battle, while power from buildings and research stays forever. Hiring is a way to pull the number up before an event, not a way to get stronger for good.

Benchmarks

The game keeps a reference total per Sanctuary level: 85,000 at level one and 94,620,000 at level thirty. At thirty, over a third of it is soldiers and about as much is hero levels.
