Soldier's Rest saves a share of fallen soldiers, and the share climbs from 18% to 40% before stopping at level 23. Later levels add capacity only. Raising a fallen soldier costs the same as healing a wounded one, 30% of recruiting. The building is available from the start of the game and goes up to level 30. Only one can be built. Levels raise: troop Reception Rate, troop Reception Capacity, rest Cooldown, help Accepted.

Levels and cost
Reference levels of the building: what it gives, how much Might it brings and what the next step costs. Cost grows faster than the payoff: the last five levels take 79% of the total build time.

Full upgrade
Taking the building from level 1 to 30 costs
Grain 2,544,183,685,
Timber 2,544,183,685,
Herb 412,932,990. Pure build time without speed-ups: 299d 3h, that is, about 10 months.
How to use it
Level 23 of the Soldier's Rest works as a natural stopping point. The share of saved soldiers climbs from 18% at level 1 to 40% at level 23 and moves no further, while all twenty-three levels cost 250,788,685 Grain, the same amount of Timber and 33 days 5 hours of queue. Capacity over that same stretch grows from 400 fallen to 1,545.
The remainder of the upgrade is out of proportion to its return. Levels 24 to 30 demand 2,293,395,000 Grain, the same amount of Timber and 265 days 21 hours, nine tenths of the entire building, and they add only capacity, from 1,545 to 2,000 fallen, a cooldown shortened from 52 hours to 48, and help raised from 9 to 10.
Might is no argument either. At level 30 the Rest carries 3,000, over the same 299 days 4 hours of construction that the Granary spends on its 287,500. Measured per resource it returns the least of any building in the city.
The value of the Rest sits in the early city. It is available from Sanctuary level 1 while the Infirmary arrives only at level 7, and until then the Rest is the sole guard against permanent losses. Raising a fallen soldier costs the same 30% of recruiting as healing a wounded one.
