Gear Workshop forges hero gear, and its level unlocks crafting of the higher qualities, with gear stars arriving at level 20. Levels past the twentieth carry no numeric bonus, so they are raised for Might and for Sanctuary requirements alone. The building unlocks after Sanctuary level 4 and goes up to level 30. Only one can be built.

Levels and cost
Reference levels of the building: what it gives, how much Might it brings and what the next step costs. Cost grows faster than the payoff: the last five levels take 79% of the total build time.

Full upgrade
Taking the building from level 1 to 30 costs
Grain 1,491,682,843,
Timber 4,526,021,182,
Herb 464,624,870. Pure build time without speed-ups: 349d, that is, about 12 months.
This building gives no stat bonus: it unlocks an option rather than percentages.
How to use it
The Gear Workshop is one of two thirty-level buildings whose level table holds no numeric bonus at all; the other is the Epigraph Workshop. For 349 days of construction and 6,482,328,895 resources the workshop returns unlocked options and 277,600 Might.
Everything it unlocks is finished by level 20: crafting of the three higher qualities and gear stars. Level 20 arrives after 15 days and 11 hours, under five percent of the whole build time. The remaining ten levels cost 333 days and 13 hours and bring 229,900 Might, and nothing besides.
Five buildings share the queue at Sanctuary level 4, and only one of them is instant: the Explorer's Camp at 240 resources. The other four ask 1,396 days between them. A neighbor at that level spends the same stretch differently: the Tavern asks for the same 349 days, yet its free recruit cooldown keeps falling all the way to level 30.
The bill of the workshop leans hard on Timber: 4,526,021,182 against 1,491,682,843 Grain and 464,624,870 Herb, the third largest timber spend in the city. Up to level 20 it sits early in the queue, alongside hero gear itself, and past level 20 it is raised for Sanctuary requirements. One workshop stands to a city, and a second cannot be built.
